Visa on Arrival (VOA)
Effective immediately, a VOA, subject to a fee, is needed for entry, permitting a stay of up to 30 days. I would highly recommend you to apply and paid online, known as an eVOA. Ensure all details on forms are accurate and match your passport to avoid having to repurchase a visa. Print out the eVOA and you can use to scan in the digital kiosks at the airport. It will save you a lot of time.

Customs Declaration
An online customs declaration is mandatory prior to departure, generating a QR code to be scanned at customs – doing this upfront will avoid waiting in queues. A single declaration suffices for family groups. Screen shot the QR code when finished.

Tourist Levy: as of Feb14th, 2024 all tourists need to pay a 10USD fee to visit Bali. Payment can be done at https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id ahead of arrival. We recommend saving the QR for checking at the airport .

Passport
Ensure your passport has at least 6 months’ validity upon entry to avoid travel disruptions.

Driving License
You’re permitted to drive cars and scooters in Indonesia with an international driving license in addition to your national driving license. This can normally be obtained in your home country from the AA, or once in Bali.

Money
Withdrawing cash from ATMs tends to offer better rates than exchange counters and credit cards, especially compared to hotels. ATMs are widely available, and while many places accept card payments, smaller shops or markets may not. The currency is the Indonesian Rupiah.

Internet
Free WiFi is commonly accessible. A local SIM card is recommended for uninterrupted internet and local call accessibility, enabling usage of local apps like Grab, Gojek, and Bluebird Taxi. Telkomsel offers the best network coverage.

Google Maps
Google Maps is highly useful for navigating Bali. Download offline maps as a precaution against potential internet inaccessibility.

Shopping / Laundry
Bali offers abundant shopping, reducing the need to over-pack. Numerous affordable laundry services are available. Note that sunscreen is notably expensive; consider bringing it with you.

Medical Care
While private clinics provide commendable services, medical costs can be significantly higher compared to many other places. Ensure you have travel health insurance to cover potential medical and associated costs during your trip.
